Belo Medical Group's Glycopeel 20% Review - First Session

I was browsing in the internet about how the services of the Belo Medical Group and was surprised that only a few had written their reviews or experiences. Belo has been a household term here in the Philippines as most of the Filipino celebrities were handled by this clinic. They are most popular for anti-aging treatments, facials, laser liposuction, and laser hair removal treatments. I have tried just a couple of facial clinics such as Let's Face It and Skin Station. Personally, I was not happy with their services as they are not consistent. There were times when the pricking and extracting was too painful and sometimes not, and had mostly unsatisfactory results.

I always been so interested on the Belo Medical Group but so hesitant to book an appointment thinking that it would triple my usual facial cost. But after having a break out (which is very uncommon for me ) just two days after my last facial, I realized that it would be better if I get a service that is worth every peso. So I immediately turned on the wifi, grab my phone and book an appointment at Belo's Greenbelt branch. Two days before the appointed date, I received a message from them to confirm the day and time, also the Doctor and esthetician who will be handling my concern.

February 6: The appointed day
At first I was surprised with the way they deal with patients. They even offered me drinks while I was waiting. I was 15 minutes early as I was advised to. They asked for my health histories and current health condition. After 5 minutes I was accompanied by one of the receptionist to the Doctor's office. The room was so elegant and spacious. I am guessing that it is actually the office of Dra. Vicky Belo because it is filled with her pictures and stuffs. When the doctor came she immediately checked my face and asked if I have other concerns. She explained to me the possible causes of my pimples, then recommended some treatments that can be done for that day and for the following sessions. Glycopeel 20% and Cryoslush were the treatments that was suggested to me. I just follow her advice as the treatments that she said were not that expensive. Before I continue, these are the information about the said treatments from the Belo MG's website itself:
  • Glycopeel Cleaning makes use of different concentrations of fruit acid applied on the skin to unroof pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and exfoliate dead skin. The concentration may vary from 20% to 70% depending on the need of the patient. Recommended for oily and acne-prone skin, glycopeel cleaning can be done every week and the treatment lasts for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Cryoslush is a procedure which uses very cold mist or ice mist applied on the surface of the skin after a cleaning or laser treatment. Post laser, Cryoslush serves as an add on cooling mechanism for faster and safer healing and to minimize the downtime. Post facial or cleaning, Cryoslush aids in the desquamation of comedones, resolution of inflammatory papules, nodules and cystic acne.
Going back, the procedure of Glycopeel Cleaning was like the usual facials. Except that it is more relaxing as the attendee give me an aroma oil to smell that made me loosen up a bit. The pricking and extracting were painful but tolerable. After that, she injected med to the big pimples to reduce the swelling.

The Cryoslush was literally an ice mist that being ran through my face.

It is my second day after the treatment and very happy with the result. My face now is amazingly bump free that I never had before.

AM I GONNA GRAB ANOTHER SESSION?
Definitely yes. Not just because I was asked to, but also I want to maintain having no bumps on my face. Although it was just my first treatment, results could change as the sessions go along.

    3. Hi kung bumabalik ang pimples it doesn't mean hindi maganda ang services. Maintaining po yung every 2 weeks para mawala. Hindi after 1 session mauubos ang pimples.

    1. Wala naman. It is the same as the usual facials, the only difference is the meds which is the Glyco they put before doing the pricking.

  7. HI there! Just saw you blogpost about belo's facial treatment. Do you still go to Belo for your facials?

    1. Yes I still go to Belo for facials. Maganda yung facials nila and unlike other clinics libre na yung gamot na iniinject sa mga malalaking pimples.

    1. On your first visit yes you'll pay for consultation fee and the treatment. Dipende sayo kung iaavail mo yung meds pero most probably iaavail mo rin kasi yun yung prescription ng doctor. They'll say that the treatment would be useless if you don't apply meds

    2. Hi just wanna ask kng effective ba ung mga meds nila sayo or nagfafacial kna lng with them at nawawala nmn ung pimples kaht di lagyan ng meds

    3. Yan din ksi prob ko i really wanna try na magswitch ng clinic since di nmn effective ung meds galing sa clinic ko ngayon

    4. Hi Jillian.
