Updated Belo Treatments for Acne-Prone Skin (Is it worth it?)

It's been a year since I posted my first experience in Belo Medical Group. A lot has been asking me if it's worth the money, did my pimples disappear, or do I still go to Belo for treatments. This is my own thoughts and experience about the clinic. Pwedeng mas maganda or worth it yung effect sa iba or pwede ring katulad ko na sakto lang.

Before anything else, I want to emphasize that my pimples are not the worst. I have more bumps or comedones than normal to big pimples. Kaya hindi siya halata sa malayo.

After the first session, I kept on going back twice a month and regularly apply my meds as the doctor suggested. Treatments are Glycopeel cleaning and Inara blue light. What are them?

Glycopeel Cleaning makes use of different concentrations of fruit acid applied on the skin to unroof pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and exfoliate dead skin. The concentration may vary from 20% to 70% depending on the need of the patient. Recommended for oily and acne-prone skin, glycopeel cleaning can be done every week and the treatment lasts for 30 to 45 minutes. (To simplify, ito yung facial nila for acne-prone skin) PRICE: P1320 per session
Inara light therapy is non-invasive, non-ablative, and safe for patients. It is a new technology based on narrowband Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), developed after 12 years of extensive medical research. Inara stimulates cells a thermally without causing damage to the epidermis or dermal tissue, therefore there is no downtime for patients or unwanted side effects* (e.g. erythema, peeling or blistering) as may result from use of a laser or other products. (To simplify, this treatment would help to fight or reduce the bacteria that can cause pimples. This is being done after the Glycopeel cleaning. Mask siya na may blue light. This will take 20 minutes.) PRICE: P2200 per session
Prescribed meds are bought from Belo Pharmacy. Marami sila kaya I won't go into details. But you can message me if you are interested about the names and prices.
The first few months, treatments and meds were effective, there are just few bumps left. So I stopped the meds and visited the clinic once a month. But after a few weeks since I stopped, the pimples went back and got worse. I went back to the clinic and the doctor told me to go back once a week for the pimples to be treated quickly. Dahil makulit ako hindi ko sinunod. Hello di kaya mura yung treatments nila para bumalik ako once a week (hehe). I tried to do it twice a month and applied the meds daily, but it was still the same. Parang lumala pa nga compare to the first session I had with them. I was thinking maybe the treatments are too much or nasanay na yung mukha ko kakafacial kaya nung nagstop ako lumala siya. September of last year, naging busy ako so I got no time to visit the clinic. But I kept on applying some of the meds. Dahil ang daming nangyayari nung time na yun, hindi ko na napansin yung pimples ko, pero hindi naman siya lumala parang naging okay pa nga eh. Then I realized, maybe my assumption of having too much treatments as the cause of having worse pimples is true. But I still consider my hormones and bad habits like going to sleep at 7am (lala noh hehe).

So is it worth it?

I'll say yes for Glycopeel cleaning and some of the meds they prescribed. Maganda yung service nila at libre yung gamot na ininject para sa mga malalaking pimples unlike sa ibang clinic. I can say na effective naman yung ibang meds lalo na pag nagbbreak out ako nag-ddry agad yung pimples. Pero ginagamit ko sila paminsan minsan pag marami na talaga, ayoko kasing maging dependent masyado yung skin ko sa gamot. For Inara blue light, di ko nakita yung effect niya kaya I can't say it is worth it.

As of this moment, I still get pimples which I think normal on my age (I'm 21 btw). I still go to Belo Clinic for Glycopeel cleaning once a month which I think better than popping the pimples on my own.
